CA Technologies Unveils Major Additions and Updates to Their Offerings
Shifting left has been something we’ve advocated for here at Solutions Review. Security needs to be a priority for any DevOps team. At their second annual Built to Change Summit, CA Technologies announced new and updated products centered around AI, advanced analytics and shifting left. They also announced news related to their continued partnership with IBM

Analytics provides users with the ability to plan, improve, and fix problems. So much data is generated every day, but utilizing it is the true challenge. With new tools like containers and APIs, it can be difficult to make the most out of data. CA wants to give customers the ability to apply deep insights for machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Technological and enterprise tools will only improve with deeper analytics. Actionable insights are driving successful enterprises around the world. Analytics can provide a better experience for end-users, while also maximizing your DevOps teams.

CA Digital Operational Intelligence

One tool introduced at the summit was CA Digital Operational Intelligence. Machine learning that provide automated insights drives this solution. It collects data from IT operations tools. This solution is powered by CA Jarvis to monitor and find root causes. It also measures and business service levels, and improves cost and resource utilization.

Cloud cost has been a major concern for many enterprises. Managed services providers are growing in popularity due to the increased complexity of cloud infrastructures. Digital Operational Intelligence allows users to improve their cost management.

Analytics provide enterprises with the knowledge they need to stay secure. Additionally, machine learning also makes this process easier.

CA Veracode SourceClear

CA Technologies recently acquired SourceClear, which has culminated in the CA Veracode SourceClear. This tool is a “SaaS-based software composition analysis tool which relies on a unique vulnerability database that goes beyond the National Vulnerability Database (NVD) and vulnerable methods technology to increase the actionability of static composition analysis (SCA) results.”

This tool is supportive of the DevSecOps movement. DevSecOps is quickly gaining traction amongst cloud users and solution providers alike. Thus, CA Technologies has taken this to heart with CA Veracode SourceClear. This combination allows enterprises to use open source libraries without adding risk. We’ve seen so many issues arise from open source libraries. Too many DevOps teams have placed blind trust in GitHub and other libraries.

CA Veracode SourceClear places an emphasis on shifting left. In combining DevOps with integrated application scanning, teams can work with increased peace of mind. All DevOps teams want to work faster, working fast doesn’t require working unsafely.

CA Technologies also announced news related to their continued partnership with IBM, which you can read here.
