Trifacta announced the launch and availability of what it is dubbing the “industry’s first pre-built cloud data engineering templates” according to a press release. The new data templates gallery gives users a head start by allowing them to deploy data engineering workflows quickly. Workflows can be tailored to solve specific data challenges in common use cases. The vendor adds that “data templates enable and encourage sharing and collaboration among modern data workers in any line of business.” The news comes on the heels of Trifacta’s Data Engineering Cloud launch.
Trifacta offers a suite of what its dubbed ‘data wrangling’ tools in three different iterations: Trifacta Starter, Professional, and Wrangler Enterprise. Trifacta allows users to do data prep without having to manually write code or use mapping-based systems. The Predictive Transformation function enables the exploration of data content so users can define a recipe for how the data should be transformed. Data Wrangler also includes data discovery, structuring, cleaning, enriching, and validation capabilities.
Trifacta’s ready-to-use data templates provide data quality rules and transformation logic embedded in each one. The template gallery also allows for crowdsourcing best practices and sharing data sets, macros, user-defined functions, and custom connectors that Trifacta customers have been developing. Trifacta’s data templates are ready to be used either standalone to jump-start new projects or plugged into an existing data engineering pipeline.
In a media statement on the news, Trifacta co-founder and CTO Sean Kandel said: “The pre-built templates from Trifacta allow companies to start from a complete workflow and quickly tailor it to their specific needs, dramatically reducing the cycle time to go from raw data to high quality, automated data pipelines. As more companies modernize and migrate their data to the cloud, the opportunity to become truly data-driven is there for the taking.”
The pre-built templates from Trifacta are available both on the Trifacta Data Engineering Cloud and on Dataprep by Trifacta on Google Cloud. Read What’s New in Trifacta 8.5 Release in the company’s blog to learn more.
