Glassdoor, one of the top job and recruiting websites in the world, recently reported that DevOps is the number-two job in America. This is Glassdoor’s fifth annual 50 Best Jobs in America study. DevOps engineer received a score of 4.6/5, only .2 points behind the winning job, data scientist. This is the second consecutive year DevOps engineer is the runner-up for the best job.
The report highlights the highest scoring jobs based on Glassdoor’s rating system. Scores are determined by combining three factors:
- Number of job openings
- Median salary
- Overall job satisfaction rating
The increase in jobs is evidence at the impact DevOps has on IT teams. DevOps’ growth in popularity has largely been based on word of mouth and publications.
