Mobile Device Management May Soon Have its Head in the Clouds says Gartner

Mobilie Device Management (MDM) may soon be joining the likes of computing and enterprise wireless network control in the Cloud according to Gartner. At a recent Gartner Summit they outline that while 85% of Mobile Device Management (MDM) product purchases are in-house software and management consoles there is actually a shift towards cloud-based MDM solutions.

At the top of their list of MDM solution providers offering cloud management capabilities are AirWatch, Fiberlink, MobileIron, Zenprise and Notify Technology. One reason for this shift to the cloud is speed of deployment.
