Cisco Increases Application Visibility and Observability With New Solutions

Cisco is launching new solutions to increase application visibility and observability, according to a press release on the company’s website. The solutions integrate ThousandEyes’ Internet and cloud intelligence with AppDynamics and Cisco’s most widely deployed switching family. These new capabilities add ubiquitous visibility and the ability to fix critical issues across a customer’s digital applications and services.

AppDynamics offers an application performance monitoring suite that helps users create better digital experiences for customers and employees, accelerating digital transformations to drive customer engagement and operational efficiency. ThousandEyes can identify problems across an organization by collecting topology information and using it to depict the paths taken by network traffic. It uses agents to generate synthetic traffic that is used to probe network patterns and flows.

The new solutions combine the network and Internet performance metrics from ThousandEyes into AppDynamics Dash Studio. This provides a common operating language for network, application, and cloud teams to quickly isolate and resolve issues. DNA Advantage and Premier customers will also now be able to run the ThousandEyes agent natively on their Catalyst 9300/9400 switches.

In the company’s press release, Cisco’s SVP and GM, Enterprise Networking and Cloud Todd Nightingale stated: “Agility, flexibility and scalability have never been more important, leading many organizations to embrace the benefits of cloud-first environments.
