It has been clear for some time now that the big platform players in Business Intelligence, Business Process Management and CRM view mobile application development as a must have feature in this rapidly evolving business landscape. So it is not really earth shattering news that Pegasystems has acquired Antenna Software.

Research from IDC shows that by 2015, there will be 1.3 billion people in the mobile workforce. To serve today’s mobile users, applications must be prepared for multiple mobile platforms and more than 250 different screen sizes. This announcement follows closely the recent announcement by Pivotal a Platform-as-a-Service spin-out that they had acquired Xtreme Labs in a very similar move.
