The Best Container Events and Conferences to Attend in 2018

As we enter 2018, container technology will continue to grow in popularity. This container revolution will be complemented by multiple events. These events are valuable for developers interested in implementing containers, and those that are already on the frontier of their implementation. Since containers are a very specific section of IT, not every conference featured will be focused on them. However, these conferences are certainly the best to get your container fix.

Here at Solutions Review, we do our best to provide IT professionals with best practices, news and buyer’s guides regarding containers. Sometimes, though, there is no replacement for hearing directly from the people leading the charge in this container revolution.

The world of containers may be intimidating, but these conferences have hands-on technical education, real-world case studies, and, of course, the best speakers in the business.

February is almost upon us, but there is still ticket availability for Container World 2018. They also emphasize the after party and happy hours!

Notable speakers: Steve Singh, Chairman, and CEO of Docker, Solomon Hykes, Founder and Chief Architect of Docker, Laura Frank, Director of Software Development at Codeship

AWS Re: Invent

Where: Las Vegas, Nevada

When: 11/26/2018 to 11/30/2018

I’m sure a lot of people would love an excuse to go to Las Vegas. Learning about containers just adds to the excitement. The conference has a lot more than just containers though. Last year, there was a Robocar Rally where teams were tasked with customizing, training, and then racing a 1/16th scale autonomous car! Amazon goes above and beyond for AWS customers attending this event and it is certainly a can’t miss.

Kubecon/ CloudNativeCon

Where: Seattle, WA

When: 12/11/2018 to 12/13/2018

This is Cloud Native Computing Foundation’s flagship conference and it gathers leaders from across the open source and cloud-native communities. They already have an extended list of sponsors for next year including Cisco, Red Hat, and IBM. They had just over 100 sponsors for last year’s event. Last year included speakers from Red Hat, Google, Github, Microsoft Azure and many others. This is the premier event when it comes to keeping up with the industry as far as containers and other DevOps related technologies.
