Acronis recently announced the launch of its new solution, Acronis Cyber Backup SCS Hardened Edition. This new version is a full disk backup solution designed specifically for ‘no internet’ air-gapped networks. Based on the same code as Acronis SCS’ Department of Defense Information Network Approved Products List (DoDIN APL) certified solution, Acronis Cyber Backup SCS Hardened Edition provides complete data protection for critical assets and data across sensitive national security, industrial, and commercial environments.
Acronis offers backup, disaster recovery, and secure file sync and share solutions. The company also provides data protection in any environment, including virtual, physical, cloud, and mobile. Businesses of all sizes work well with Acronis Cyber Backup, which also offers proactive ransomware protection. Recently, Acronis acquired 5nine Software and released Acronis Cyber Protect. Though remote management of the solution requires some manual configuration and monitoring, the interface is intuitive and easy to use.
With zero integration or outbound connection to online services, Acronis Cyber Backup SCS Hardened Edition significantly reduces an environment’s attack surface while minimizing the time IT teams spend handling false alerts and failed outbound communications. The new solution features FIPS-validated encryption and RSA key generation, as well as Intel-pioneered, hardware-based random number generation methods to ensure maximum entropy.
In a press statement, Gaidar Magdanurov, Chief Cyber Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Acronis said, “unlike other backup and disaster recovery products on the market, Acronis Cyber Backup SCS Hardened Edition is designed specifically for air-gapped environments: eliminating the need for connectivity, integrations, outbound connections, or unnecessary access points that expand a network’s attack surface. Beyond that, however, our new solution also streamlines backup and recovery operations. IT personnel can now regain hours of time they previously spent responding to failed connections and false alarms.”
Security is critical within backup solutions, as they must touch everything in a network, from endpoints and storage to file shares and servers. With that in mind, Acronis’ new solution provides the capabilities specialized security professionals need to perform their jobs securely.
