Las Vegas is again setting the pace for resort destinations and the hospitality industry by partner with Cisco to implement an unparalleled wireless LAN at MGM’s 8 Las Vegas locations. The high density network will offer 30 percent faster connectivity as well as automatic Wi-Fi connection for guests. The network will span across all public locations including pools, casinos, lobbies and restaurants with service entering quest rooms in the spring.
The beefed up network will not only allow for seamless connectivity for massive amounts of guests, but the stat of the art network will also support new a innovative applications being implemented for visitor convenience. Applications such as interactive maps with turn by turn directions for resort locations, live onsite promotions and menu access will all be running on the new Cisco network.
The new network will not just be used for fun and games for those in Vegas. The improved wireless network will have a major impact on meeting and large conventions being held in the city. With out having to compete for bandwidth meeting and conference attendees will be able to optimize their productivity. Customized network can be set up to securely communicate and transfer messages with in specific groups with 120,000 individual users being able to connect at the same time. That is quite a jump up from the previous maximum of 4,000 users. MGM Resorts International bet on Cisco and it seems as though they have turn over a full house.
