Logi Analytics to Acquire Zoomdata in Second Major Buy This Year
Logi Analytics is set to acquire big data analytics and exploration provider Zoomdata. The merger will enable Logi to expand its portfolio of analytic capabilities, as well as enhance its global partner network. This is the second major buy in 2019 for the company, coming on the heels of its acquisition of Jinfonet Software in February. Zoomdata is based on Reston, Virginia, and has amassed more than $47 million in venture capital funding since its founding in 2012.
Zoomdata offers a range of BI and analytic tools highlighted by big data exploration and data visualization. The platform features a patented micro-query architecture that allows organizations to bridge old and new data in a unified view. Zoomdata enables connection, interaction, and visualization with data on browsers and mobile devices. The company’s DataDVR capabilities allow users to fast-forward, rewind, and compare real-time streaming and historical data as well.
In a statement to Solutions Review, Logi Analytics CEO Steven Schneider told us: “We are excited to acquire Zoomdata and immediately begin working with their customers, partners and of course the team. They have built incredible analysis technology that allows real-time visibility for big data. Logi further extends its leadership by bringing the power of cloud data warehouses, big data, streaming, NoSQL data, and cross-source analysis to the embedded analytics category.”
In a post on the Logi blog, Schneider lumps the two moves together as a broader new growth stage for the company. While Logi will offer the new Zoomdata capabilities to its existing customers, it appears as though the Zoomdata platform will continue to get regular product updates and enhancements. This means existing Zoomdata users should be able to continue on using the product for the foreseeable future.
Zoomdata has received the Technology Innovation Award for Big Data Analytics by Dresner Advisory Services for three-straight years. We also named Zoomdata to our list of the 20 Best Data Analytics Software Tools for 2019.
