asus-rt-ac5300

Asus has just announced their latest 802.11ac router the RT-AC5300 at IFA 2015. RT-AC5300 is a triband router with three Wi-Fi bands, one on 204GHz and two on 5GHz. It has much higher specs than their previous top router, RT-AC3200 and looks like a dead spider.

Each of the eight duel band antennas is detachable, and it includes two USB ports that can be used for printers and external hard drives. Asus is calling RT-AC5300 the world’s fastest Wi-Fi router delivering up to 1000Mbit/s on the 2.4GHz band and up to 2167Mbit/s on each of the two 5GHz bands, for a combined total of up to 5334Mbit/s.

The antennas are in a four-transmit, four-receive (4T4R) configuration, both Wi-Fi range and signal stability are improved, giving  wide coverage up to 500 square meters. AiRadar beamforming focuses the Wi-Fi signal, giving faster, clearer and stronger Wi-Fi performance for each device. Some more features include:

  • Ultra-fast 802.11ac Wi-Fi router with a combined tri-band data rate of 5334 Mbps for low latency online gaming, smooth 4K streaming and extremely fast file-sharing.
  • Broadcom® NitroQAMTM technology boosts two 5 GHz data rates up to 4334 Mbps and 2.4 GHz up to 1000 Mbps.
  • Tri-Band with multiple devices connected at the same time.
  • Tri-Band Smart Connect automatically selects the fastest of the three available frequency bands for each device, based on the device’s speed, signal strength and how busy each band is.
  • 4×4 MIMO antenna design with AiRadar universal beamforming for unrivaled multi-device performance and wireless signal range up to 500 m2 (around 5400 square feet)*.
  • Link aggregation supports close to 2 Gbps wired transmission for more devices to enjoy faster access speed.
  • 8X capacity Wi-Fi with revolutionary MU-MIMO technology.
  • AiProtection with Trend MicroTM with triple-strength total network security, plus robust parental controls and privacy protection.

Like all 802.11ac wireless routers, these connections may vary based on network conditions and environmental factors.
