Samsung’s New SmartThings and Wi-Fi Mesh Router Available for Preorder this Sunday

Samsung has announced a release date and price for its Connect Home router and smart-home hub. The new router is designed to be displayed in the open in order to provide your office or home with a strong mesh wireless network. . The router is available for preorder at BestBuy beginning this Sunday, June 4th and will be sold in a number of configurations

• For large homes up to 4,500 square feet, Samsung offers a three-pack solution for a suggested price of $379.99, which seems about right compared to the $350 Netgear Orbi 2-pack, $395 Eero 3-pack, $330 Plume six-pack (prices will vary).
• Smaller homes up to 1,500 square feet can buy a single unit for $169.99.
• Samsung will also sell a single $249.99 Connect Home Pro for gamers and anyone else that demands higher bandwidth. Pro models are not offered in bundles.

The Connect Home Pro features a 4×4 MU-MIMO antenna and a maximum speed of 1.7 GBps, while the other model come equipped with a 2×2 MU-MIMO antenna array and a slower processors for a maximum speed of 866Mbps. Samsung says that up to five Connect Home devices can be connected at once to cover 7,500 square feet of space. The Connect Home devices will be available on July 2nd
