This Video Breaks Down the “Fastest Wireless Standard You May Never Use”
The last five years have been primarily dominated by one wireless standard: 802.11ac. Although that might be the most popular standard for your typical internet user, it’s not the only one worthy of discussion. Network World has positioned 802.11ad as “the fastest wi-fi you might not ever use”.
Operating at the 60GHz spectrum rather than the more common 2.4GHz and 5GHz spectrum used by 802.11ac, this new standard has inspired a lot of talk due to it’s impressive maximum speed of 7Gbps compared to the 3.2 Gbps offered by .ac.
Watch as Youtuber ThioJoe discussed the wireless standard and what makes this technology so fascinating.
