Veritas provides backup and recovery, business continuity, information governance, and storage management tools. Its NetBackup product is a single and scalable solution that can protect physical, virtual, and cloud workloads. Multitenant support is optional, and the solution is available on a converged platform that requires minimal administration, even in large environments. It eliminates point products and improves productivity within a business using centralized, policy-based management. Veritas also incorporates innovative technologies for data reduction and bandwidth efficiency while providing extensive indexing and search capabilities.

The acquisition of Globanet will enhance the capabilities of Veritas’ archiving and e-discovery products by adding the ability to natively capture, classify, monitor, and discover against more sources of content than before. Additionally, the acquisition will simplify discovery and lifecycle management with richer content capture that shows archived content in a closer to native view. With the two companies’ combined capabilities, Veritas offers complete capture of Microsoft Office 365 content sources, along with all other communication and file sources used by Veritas customers.

In a media statement, CEO of Veritas, Greg Hughes, said, “by integrating Globanet’s technology into our digital compliance portfolio, we’re making it simpler for Veritas customers to find and act on more of their data, no matter where it lives. Today’s announcement accelerates and strengthens our vision for the Veritas Enterprise Data Services Platform and improves its world-class compliance capabilities. No matter what communications and data management platform our customers use, we enable them to optimize and monitor all their content as it moves from backup to archive to discovery.”
