Microsoft Acquires E-Commerce Marketing Automation Vendor PromoteIQ

Tech giant Microsoft recently announced its acquisition of PromoteIQ, a leading vendor of marketing automation technology for e-commerce. Their software enables brands to promote on e-commerce websites, increase brand awareness, drive product sales, and generate performance insights.

Our 2019 Marketing Automation Buyer’s Guide helps you evaluate the best solution for your use case and features profiles of the leading providers, as well as a category overview of the marketplace.

PromoteIQ offers two categories of solutions: one for brands, and one for retailers. Their platform provides a powerful marketing channel, and users to showcase their brand to in-market shoppers via native product placements. Retailers can maximize ad revenue and control by working directly with their brand partners. With automated enterprise controls for factors like prices and vendor permissions, users can easily deploy and manage their marketing program at scale.

PromoteIQ’s technology complements Microsoft’s current retail advertising offerings, and this acquisition enables retailers with a portfolio of technology solutions to modernize their e-commerce platforms. PromoteIQ’s previous clients include Kohl’s, Office Depot,  and B&H Photo, so this vendor has extensive experience addressing the complex and unique needs of large enterprises.

“We greatly admire the work PromoteIQ has done and couldn’t be more excited about this acquisition’s potential to empower global retailers and brands, accelerate PromoteIQ’s growth, and expand Microsoft Advertising’s reach and scale.” said Rik van der Kooi, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Advertising.
